Iran NADO starts blood testing

According to the National Anti-Doping Headquarters, in order to fight doping more seriously, the doping control officers officially started the blood test on Monday evening, November 1, 2021, by attending the camp of the national cycling teams.

In this mission, in addition to urine samples, blood samples were taken from 15 riders who were present in the camp of national road and mountain cycling teams (men and women). By carrying out this mission, Iran has officially joined the countries that comply with WADA measures to fight against doping more seriously.

IRAN NADO has changed under contract accredited WADA laboratory from Cologne (Koln) (MD Institute) to Doha. The cooperation agreement was signed in presence of NADO Secretary-General Mehrzad Khalilian and Anti-Doping Lab Qatar (ADLQ) Director Costas Georgeakopoulos.

During the visit of ADLQ, the expert group of the National Anti-Doping Control (NADO) discussed in detail the future cooperation and finally the cooperation agreement between the parties was signed.

The Qatar Laboratory’s endorsement by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the proximity of Qatar and the possibility of faster transfer of samples of our athletes to this laboratory and facilitating the transfer of currency from Qatar were among the issues discussed in the meeting.
