Mandatory invitations to road race (art. 2.1.007bis, 2.14.020, 2.14.021, 2.14.038 and 2.14.051 of the UCI Regulations

2022 Season

The Sports Department has published the list of mandatory invitations extended to teams for road events on the page dedicated to the UCI Regulations on the UCI website.

As per article 2.1.007bis of the UCI Regulations, these provisions concern the UCI WorldTour first and foremost, with ALPECIN – FENIX and TEAM ARKEA - SAMSIC receiving a mandatory invitation to all the events on the circuit and TOTALENERGIES being invited to the one-day races on the UCI WorldTour.
 
Regarding the UCI Women’s WorldTour, in addition of the UCI Women’s WorldTeams registered for the 2022 season, VALCAR TRAVEL & SERVICES, CERATIZIT – WNT PRO CYCLING TEAM and PARKHOTEL VALKENBURG must be invited by the UCI Women’s WorldTour organisers to all the events, as the three best UCI Women’s Continental Teams of the final 2021 World Ranking of the season.
 
Regarding the UCI Continental Circuits events (Men Elite and Men Under 23):

  • Organisers of Class 2 events of UCI Europe Tour, as well as organisers of Class 1 and Class 2 events of UCI America Tour, UCI Asia Tour and UCI Oceania Tour must invite the 3 first UCI Continental Teams in the final 2021 season classification by team for the relevant continental circuit of the event;
  • Organisers of Class 2 events of UCI Africa Tour must invite the 3 first national teams in the final 2021 season classification by nation of UCI Africa Tour.

The teams and their contact details are indicated in the document.

Finally, regarding the UCI Nations Cup (Men Under 23, Men and Women Junior), the organisers are also required to send an invitation to the teams or nations designated in the document as provided in articles 2.14.020, 2.14.021, 2.14.038, 2.14.051.

2022 licences
In order to make the rider and staff confirmation process easier at the start of the first races of the year, National Federations are requested to ensure, as soon as possible, that the status of all their licencees registered in UCI Teams, are updated on the UCI DataRide platform for the 2022 season.

2022 UCI Road World Championships in Wollongong (Australia)
The city of Wollongong will host the 2022 UCI Road World Championships between 18 and 25 September 2022.

To deliver a successful global event, Wollongong 2022 has set up an official travel office to oversee the travel arrangements of National Federations, partners, media and fans. The Wollongong 2022 Travel Office, managed by global cycling tour operator Mummu Cycling, is available to assist with accommodation, transport and logistics.
